What’s up with these internet sales taxes I’m getting now when I order a gift for someone from Amazon?
Did the laws change or something?
Nope, the law hasn’t change (fingers crossed that it wouldn’t happen any time soon).
Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax.
If you had the gift shipped to one of these states, then a local sales tax will be added.
Best wishes.
